In the year 1945, at Illesha in Osun state, Nigeria, there lived a white missionary named Pa Elton John, he was moved by the Holy Spirit and he prophesied thus that 'a time is coming in history of Nigeria when the government of this nation would pay young people to preach the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the nook and cranny of Nigeria.'
In 1973, the government of Nigeria under the leadership of General Yakubu Gowon set up the NYSC sheme. Under this scheme, Young Nigeria graduates are paid by the government to use their talents and academic prowess to help develop the entire nation especially the interiors. Little groups of Christians began to merge, as young Christians graduates began to find themselves together at different orientation camps and states throughout the federation. These little groups began to grow in the process of time, metamorphosed into the Nigeria Christian Corpers' Fellowship. This was seen as the fulfillment of that prophesy of God through Pa Elton.
